"Final Approach" was also taken on March 1, 2026, one of the best duck filming days of my short career. This shot was taken shortly before "The Pinny" at 7:46 AM. I had belly crawled roughly 120 yards to the edge of a warm water slough and watched one of the greatest reverse migration days of the season. Thousands of mallards were filling into this tiny area and the photo opportunities were plentiful. Days like this don't come around often they are what grasp at my love for ducks. I hope you enjoy this picture as much as I enjoyed taking it.
